Enhance your smile with Professional Teeth Whitening

Most of us are born with gorgeous white teeth, but sometimes life takes a toll on the brightness of our smiles. Some of the foods and beverages we consume can wreak havoc on our teeth, making them less dazzling than we would like them to be. The coffee we enjoy every morning, and the red wine we have with dinner can also affect our smile’s brightness.

At Patel and Dornhecker Dentistry in Cincinnati, Ohio, we know how important bright, healthy teeth are not just for your oral health but for your confidence and self-esteem as well. As such, we offer professional teeth whitening treatments to transform your smile into one you will be proud to show off!

Why professional teeth whitening is a great choice

Indeed, tons of over-the-counter (OTC) teeth whitening products are available, but too many of these don’t live up to the promises made by marketing departments. For one thing, everyone has a different shade of tooth enamel, and these cheap products are basically one-size-fits-all. Because you are a unique individual, this is not an effective way to brighten your smile. Also, OTC products can actually cause damage to your teeth over time. For this reason, it’s best to have your teeth professionally whitened by a licensed dentist.

Stains on your teeth can be caused by several different things, not just food, beverages, and tobacco. For example, your teeth may be stained if you’ve had a trauma of some kind or reactions to certain medications. However, professional teeth whitening can effectively remove these stains, restoring your smile to its former glory.

Our professional in-office teeth whitening

At our practice, we offer professional in-office teeth whitening treatments, during which a whitening gel with a 38% hydrogen peroxide stain-removing concentration is applied to your teeth. This entire procedure only takes about an hour from start to finish and is typically carried out as follows:

  • You first settle in the treatment chair, after which you are provided with headphones and TV entertainment.
  • Cheek retractors are used to keep soft tissues and lips out of the way of the peroxide solution.
  • The whitening gel is applied to your teeth and left on for about 20 minutes.
  • The process is repeated twice more.
  • Your teeth are rinsed, and the process is complete.
