Dr. Jesal A. Patel
I consider myself an Ohioan. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio, attended Miami University for microbiology in Oxford, Ohio then was honored to have an early acceptance to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. After my graduation from the dental program in 1998, I completed a Dental General Practice Residency at The Medical College of Ohio back in my hometown of Toledo. My experience at the residency program allowed me to treat many different patient populations and learn in a medical environment. I was privileged to work and treat children and adult patients in a hospital setting with head and neck cancers, people with a history of trauma, and those undergoing organ transplants. The unique program also allowed me to treat our honorable veterans at the VA clinic, and those with special needs at the MRDD Center of Toledo. My eagerness to learn and serve as a dental resident at The Medical College of Ohio allowed me to co-receive The Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery Outstanding Resident Award. That year I was also the recipient of the Toledo Dental Society Spring Clinician Award.
In 1999, my husband and I decided to make Cincinnati our new hometown. We started practicing dentistry in our own private offices at the Bridgetown and Fairfield locations. As“Ohioans” we chose to build, equip, and decorate our offices using all local companies, craftsman, and suppliers. It is extremely important to us to support our local people and businesses. We strive to serve our patients with the best quality care we can provide. We are always eager to meet the wonderful people in the area and customize our care based on their personal needs. We believe every person is unique and should be treated individually and not as a number. Our goal has always been to create a personal relationship with each patient to establish trust and cater to the specific needs of each person and situation.
I continue to learn and follow the motto of my residency program, Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve. Since 1998 I have been a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Cincinnati Dental Association, Keely Dental Association(Butler County), Spear Dental Club, Seattle Study Club and various other local dental study groups. I was honored to be named a Top Dentist in Cincinnati by my colleagues.
Dr. Dornhecker and I enjoy spending time doing various local runs for charity, supporting our professional and non-professional sports teams, and spending time with our children. Our lives and heart are here in our state. O-H-I-O! Go Bucks!
Dr. Shawn Dornhecker
Hello! I am Dr. Shawn Dornhecker. I have been part of the dental community in west side Cincinnati for over 20 years, and a lifelong Ohioan. My journey into dentistry began at Miami University in Oxford, OH, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in microbiology. My Doctor of Dental Surgery degree was granted by The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1998.
Shortly after graduation, I married my college sweetheart, Dr. Jesal Patel. We were accepted for an intensive one-year residency at Toledo’s Medical College of Ohio. Through this position, I had the opportunity to serve as ear, nose, and throat resident for the hospital, treating the public, underprivileged children, and patients with compromised immune systems. The hospital’s attending doctors voted us Otolaryngology and Dental residents of the year!
We made our home in Cincinnati in 1999, and opened a private practice with offices in Bridgetown and Fairfield. We supported local industry in the construction of these facilities, using local builders, suppliers, and materials.
I have long been a strong advocate of preventive dentistry. I know that avoiding problems in the mouth saves the patient time, money, and discomfort, and promotes overall good health. I also work closely with the finest specialists in the area, to ensure healthy, attractive results for every patient I serve.
Attendance at continuing education classes helps me stay current in the fast-evolving field of dentistry. My patients simply deserve the benefits of advanced, comprehensive dental care. I am also very active in organized dentistry. In 2022, I served as President of the Keely Dental Society and have served as a delegate or alternate delegate to the Ohio Dental Association for many years.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, attempting to play tennis, painting and living a healthy lifestyle.
