There are many materials of choice including gold, porcelain, porcelain to metal, and zirconia for its strength, stain resistant qualities, and natural appearance. A temporary resin crown is placed so that you look and chew normally while the final crown is being fabricated.
You return to Patel and Dornhecker Dentistry in two to three weeks. The interim/temporary crown is removed, and the new one is cemented into place, again with local anesthetic as needed. After a bit of final adjusting and polishing, your smile is restored! With good oral hygiene, your dental crown can last a decade or more.
